Activities
Respect and Manners at School and Work involves
constant student participation, which dramatically reinforces
learning. The class meets weekly during the school day and
begins with a video that stimulates discussion. Other activities
(some vary from class to class) include
keeping a notebook
"writing up" other students' respectful behavior
writing about their own opportunities to show respect
meeting and talking with role models who have
overcome hardships and achieved success
attending a luncheon where they practice manners
learned in the classroom
teaching what they've learned to younger students

Each week's activities center around a different topic: appearance, etiquette, conflict resolution, sports protocol,
and more. Every activity is designed to help students
meet situations confidently and appropriately
respect cultural differences
understand the short-term and lifelong consequences of
self-respect and respectful behavior
raise their expectations of personal success
create a positive, encouraging learning atmosphere
