Create a memoir that will be read, enjoyed, and treasured!
In ancient times, family memories and lessons passed from
generation to generation through elaborate oral histories,
often in song, poetry, or legend. More recently (before television),
children heard their elders' stories at the dinner table, on the back
porch, or around the fireplace.
These traditions may have faded, but
they are being replaced
by the written or recorded memoirs of
people like you and me.
Your history is priceless. It's more important than dates (1066) and
kings (Ethelred the Unready) and battles (Waterloo) and discoveries
(Hispaniola).
Why create a personal history?

Seeing the threads of your life weave themselves into a
tapestry is exhilarating. It's amazing to watch your history
take shape... to become a work of art, revealing patterns you
never imagined and showing how your life has made a
difference. Many memoir-writers say that they see the
imprint of divine guidance in their histories.
Telling your story is good for your health! Research shows
that creating a memoir has physical and emotional benefits...
banishing depression, low self-esteem, pain, and fatigue;
reclaiming your memories, making peace with yourself and
others, putting aside guilt and blame....
Passing on your heritageyour experiences, wisdom, beliefs,
and valuesis the greatest thing you can give your children
and future generations. And you're the only one who can!
Your memoir will enrich your relationships with family
members and put you in touch with old friends.

When to start?
The sooner the better! Ideally, you'll record things as they're happening—in a
journal, in letters or e-mails saved to a Personal History folder, or on special memoir
cards you create yourself or purchase from Zero Gravity.  More... page 2
