| Thank-You Notes and Cards: Why, When, and How |
| The ritual of giving and receiving gifts is important in every culture. In some societies, there is a strict protocol for gift-giving. In the U.S., people tend to choose and give presents as expressions of their individual styles. Click HERE to learn about the "language of flowers." Symbolically, whether the gift is a baby stroller or a company's promo- tional T-shirt, it begins a cycle of giving and receiving. The cycle is completed when the recipient acknowledges and expresses gratitude for the gift, whether by presenting his or her own gift or by writing a thank- you card or letter.
